Editorial Policy
This page explains how we produce content on GetIrishCompany — how we choose topics, where we get our facts, who writes and reviews articles, and how we handle mistakes.
Sources
Every article about Irish company law, tax or regulation is grounded in primary sources:
- Irish Statute Book — statutes and statutory instruments
- Companies Registration Office (CRO) — filings and guidance
- Revenue Commissioners — tax, VAT, PAYE
- Citizens Information — practical guidance
- BAILII — Irish case law
Writing and review
Draft articles are written by in-house editors or AI-assisted with human editor review. Every article is reviewed for factual accuracy against primary sources before publishing. Articles about live legal changes are reviewed by an Irish-qualified accountant or company secretary on our advisory panel.
Use of AI
We use large language models (Claude, GPT) to help draft, summarise and translate content. A human editor is always responsible for the final published version, the accuracy of facts, and the choice of sources. We do not publish unreviewed AI output.
Independence
Editorial decisions are independent of our commercial products and affiliate partners. Sponsored content, if any, is clearly labelled. We do not accept payment to change our editorial recommendations.
Updates and freshness
Regulatory content is reviewed at least every 6 months and immediately when a relevant change is announced by the CRO, Revenue or the Oireachtas. Each article shows its published date and last updated date.
Disclaimer
Our content is general information, not legal or tax advice. For your specific situation, consult an Irish-qualified solicitor or accountant.
